Dalby to Peel

A shorter walk today of around 6 miles, with much better weather!

Outside our sleeping spot at Dalby hub

Tom went on a solo venture to Niarbyl beach, which we skipped yesterday at the end of the walk in favour of a more direct road route
The quaint cottage from above is just visible in this picture

Then off we went together towards Peel, leaving the road for a grassy gorsey path

There were many instances of not-accounting-for-rucksacks kissing gates, bit of a squeeze!

The bay at the end of Glen Maye coming into view

Descending to the bay

Pretty rough waves still, but pleasant in the sun. We crossed the bridge to explore, but then came back over to follow the stream into the glen.

A lovely sheltered spot...

...but we are beckoned again to head up and out of the glen

The track took us back up to grassy cliffs

Where we spotted what we think is the Manx Loaghtan sheep, with it's brownish colouring and interesting horns

New friends. Perhaps a warning not to get too comfortable?

Looking back from Corrin's Hill, the Calf of Man still just visible forr the last time

Tower on Corrin's hill

And looking forward to Peel

Peel Castle, reachable by a harbour road, with the most glorious green seas beside it

Something about the quality of the water is a bit milky, like it has some sand or dust in it...

How exciting, thousands and thousands of large shells!
Many still fully in tact! A magical discovery

Ice cream treats from Davidson's

And a bag-less walk around the castle walls

Hurray!
